Green Lodges is a project co-financed by the European Union within the frame of the Intelligent Energy for Europe Programme. The development of this project is being carried out simultaneously in seven European countries by nine different organizations:

The project aims to develop a guide that can be used by the owners/managers of rural lodges for the implementation of renewable energy and micro cogeneration systems.

Along the project most frequent energy demand patterns will be defined, in order to cover the energy demand with the best available mix of local energy resources. These patterns will be defined on the basis of energy audits developed in some lodges selected from every region.

Administrative and legal barriers as well as financial support schemes are also addressed to help the owners/managers in decision making. All these information will be disseminated by means of regional and national workshops, regional (addressed to each regions involved in the project) and multi-regional guide (addressed to other European regions written in English language). These information can be found in English, Spanish, Greek, Portuguese and French languages in the project’s web site.
